Abstract

This paper examines how digital technologies are redefining urban public space by fostering new forms of community participation in artistic and cultural projects and by contributing to the development of sustainable local economies. The study is grounded in the transformation of traditional public space into a hybrid physical–digital model, supported by theoretical contributions on the democratization of art, technological development, and the formation of community-based cultural markets. Methodologically, it adopts a qualitative approach that combines the analysis of case studies with a review of key authors in the fields of digital culture, contemporary art, and the creative economy. Throughout the text, the role of digital platforms in reshaping social interactions within public spaces is examined, as well as their impact on processes of democratizing access to and production of art and on local economic dynamics. Finally, the paper proposes strategies for integrating technology into community cultural management, conceptualizing public space as a dynamic ecosystem that, when managed through an inclusive approach, strengthens the social fabric, fosters cultural creation, and promotes local economic development.
