Movies, agaves, and culture. Reflections on tequila and art

Abstract

With the initiative of Mexican artists and taking advantage of the absence of movie theaters in Tequila, the Tequila International Film Festival (Fictequila) was born in 2017. Through this project, forums, talks, exhibitions and conferences are held, trying to make the work of local artists visible and at the same time create an environmental awareness of the care of the natural ecosystem. This document seeks to generate a reflection on the trinomial: tequila, agave and culture, emphasizing cinema.
