Abstract

The problems of dwelling can be approached from different perspectives. Among the most relevant are architectural theory and philosophy. The interest of this article is to establish a dialogue between these two disciplines to address the culture and way of inhabiting cities in the 21st century, and whether there is an authentic way of dwelling or if it is in crisis.

Using Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger as conceptual references to address the concepts of world and dwelling, respectively, and a description of some cultural elements of contemporary society.
