Abstract

This article intends to analyze the phenomenon of the replication of the matlachines dance from the state of Zacatecas in the Bay of California area because of migration and the communities generated in that area. The methodology to be used is from Cuche (2007), who quotes: to capture the fabrication of a culture, is necessary to observe the migration processes, producing a cultural exchange and mixing, causing a new configuration of that culture.

Returning to the issue of migration but approaching it from a little explored point of view, being the Matlachines dance a reflection of the cultural identity of transnational communities and demonstrating that not only the person physically migrates but also the tradition comes with them.
