Abstract

This article addresses a pedagogical issue related to the teaching and learning of basic Japanese for Mexican students, focusing on the use of a series of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The main objectives are to find out why AI is useful in teaching and learning and to identify which AI tools are useful for teaching and learning Japanese. Since the research is based on direct observation through classes taught with the support of a series of AI tools, the methodology is considered qualitative. In conclusion, it can be inferred that the use of materials created with the support of artificial intelligence, most of which are attractive and interactive, allows students to pay attention, motivates them in their studies of Japanese language and culture, and improves their language skills.
