Abstract

Contemporary society requires the generation of spaces where dialogue, divergent thinking and encounters between people are encouraged in order to strengthen social infrastructure. Mexico’s public libraries are the largest cultural infrastructure in the country and have the potential to fulfill these needs and many more for the population. This text discusses the potential of libraries and proposes the implementation of several Cultural Management strategies to make it happen.
